1973 Honda CB350 by Jeff Witters - Washington DC

"I lived in Los Angeles for a while. I was just down the street from the Deus garage there in Venice Beach. (Later…) I went looking for a light bike - something between like a CB350 twin and maybe up to a 500 or 550. But I definitely wanted something smaller than a CB750 or something, and I found this one in West Virginia. I bought it on a Saturday, and tore it down on Monday. Then I just kinda let it sit around for a week, trying t figure out which way I wanted to go with it. (…) I have a thing for colors of this era. The like… late 1960’s/early 1970’s flat colors, with no metallic to them. And the whites weren’t really white, they were more like cream. These kind of cadet blues and stuff that you found on Volkswagens of the period. I love these colors. Sometimes people ask me why I didn't paint the frame. They say: "You had it all apart, every nut and bolt, and you didn't paint the frame?!" But I didn't want to paint the frame. I didn't want to polish every screw head. I wanted it to look like what it is - a well kept bike that gets used and ridden. A LOT."

TANTO".
