2014 R-Nine-T "Autobahn Streak" by Samuel Kao

Autobahn is the German name for motorway: on some of them, in Germany you can ride at unrestricted speeds and when you hear a bike like this coming, well, you are probably able to see just a streak of joy passing by and possibly the grin from the rider. That's why the name of this bike. When the BMW R nineT was launched in 2014, Samuel Kao was among the very first excited builders to customize it and with JSK Moto Co. style, took it to the extremes and created a scrambler named Project Chocolate Slider that we immediately featured on Inazuma cafe. After the Scrambler, Samuel really wanted to make a Café Racer too. Due to the JSK busy schedule, it took a long time, but he finally did it, and is definitely worth the wait. The R nineT was actually designed by BMW with customizations in mind and with the Project Autobahn Streak, JSK tested the concept designing a monocoque shell mount that needs just three connection points to be easlily installed on the motorcycle, just like the a phone case.  The bodywork is made out of fiberglass, a decision taken by Samuel due to the complexity of the lines he wanted and the simplicity he tried to achieve. Given the freedom of shape, Samuel moved the seat forward, making the riding position less aggressive and improving the comfort for the rider. To clean out the front end, JSK created a CNC upper triple tree designed purposely to only accept clip-on handlebars. The side vents are also custom made, to complete the look for the side profile. Samuel wanted to have the signature BMW angel eye headlight for the motorcycle. It was sourced from a car despite the small size for a motorcycle and a custom aluminum vent around the headlight was designed to help dissipate heat and create a futuristic look. The leather seat was handmade by Kingsman Cushion. Three Harmony Fabrication from Taiwan fabricated the metal tail section on JSK specs. Air Runner dealt with the evocative paint job. A selection of state of the art aftermarket parts completed the project. The names involved were: Akrapovic (muffler), Beringer (brake and clucth master cylinders), Earl’s (oil cooler), ENLiNT (rear sets), Driven (clip on handlebars), DK Design (air filter, carbon parts) , Gears Racing (monoshock), Motogadget, RSD, and WRRP.

I nomi coinvolti sono: Akrapovic (scarico), Beringer (pompe freno e frizione), Earl's (radiatore olio), ENLiNT (pedane), Driven (semimanubri), DK Design (filtro aria e parti in carbonio), Gears Racing (monoammortizzatore), Motogadget, RSD e WRRP.
