1974 SAIAD-Suzuki 750S "Vallelunga"
Legendary two stroke triple racing bike, fully restored by Soiatti

Between the end of the Sixties and the early Seventies, given the great popularity of endurance races, the dynamic SAIAD in Turin, official importer of Suzuki motorcycles in Italy, already builder of some 500 Titan specials intended for gentleman riders, decided to get down to the 3/4 of a liter business. In the early months of 1973, working on the basis of the GT 750 K, changes were made to the cylinders’ intake and exhaust ports, in order to get more power. Experts estimated an increase of 10 hp over the stock GT 750 K’s 71 hp, but the increase was never officially declared, probably not to invalidate the street legal certificate already available. The chassis was characterized by the modern telescopic fork and the double front disc brake, details already available of the K version, introduced in 1972. The removal of the heavy parts of the stock 750 bodywork , such as steel fenders, mirrors and indicators, and the addition of solo seat, clip-on’s, rear sets and racing tires, completed the job. The drastic weight-loss treatment brought the over 245 kg’s of the stock GT 750 K to the approximately 190 kg’s of the Vallelunga, while the maximum speed rose to 225 km/ h! The new fiberglass bodywork, as well as the valuable rear sets and alloy clip-on’s were made by Angelo Menani. At Suzuki, they immediately recognized this model as their own, making a special advertising brochure for the GT 750 S Vallelunga, in which the Special racer born in Italy was introduced with all the features of an official model.
