The brothers Vanni and Massimo Lapenna from San Vito dei Normanni (near Brindisi) had the objective to transform their 1979 BMW R65 in a more streamlined and lightweight bobber, but with an eye to comfort, in order to use their bike every day… This is their first project, named ZN1 (more details in the rest of this post)

The original front fender was shortened and reshaped, the rear one has been replaced with an ebay find. The indicators have been repositioned and replaced, and so the back light. The headlight and gauges are still the original ones, but the instruments were stripped naked and and the block has been repositioned with new brackets. The fuel tank, from an Ural Solo required the reengineering of electrical system. The saddle is custom made by a local artisan. The handlebar is Tommaselli. The new mufflers are Megaphone, the wheels were painted black and fit Avon tire. The star on the tank is not a citation of the Red Army, as I thought seeing the Ural tank, but a tribute to the beloved Aunt Nini who unfortunately passed away some time ago.
