Diabola V65 by Venier Custom

Based on a Guzzi V65C, this bike is a replica of the first build by Stefano Venier.

“The Diabola V35C (*) – Stefano says – was released in August 2012, when everything started. I built the Diabola with the intention of keeping it for myself, my own bike, but eventually I haven’t been able to keep any of the 5 I made. Customers like to buy the Diabola exactly the way it came out the first time, no changes. One is in Venice, One in Monza, Milan, London and Orlando. After its release, the Diabola hit the web and went straight to the cover of several motorcycling magazines and almost all blogs. I couldn’t believe what happened, it was an explosion. Now the bike even seats on a few Design books”.

Su base Guzzi V65C, questa moto è una replica della prima custom realizzata da Stefano Venier. "La Diabola V35C (*) – afferma Stefano – la completai ad agosto 2012, e tutto cominciò da lì. La costruii con l'intenzione di tenerla per me, la mia moto, ma alla fine non sono riuscito a tenere nemmeno una delle 5 che ho realizzato. I clienti vogliono la Diabola esattamente uguale alla prima costruita, nessun cambiamento. Una è a Venezia, una a Monza, Milano, Londra e Orlando. Dopo la sua uscita, il Diabola ha bucato il web ed è finita dritta sulla copertina di diverse riviste di motociclismo e in quasi tutti i blog. Non potevo crederci, fu un'esplosione. E ora la moto appare anche su un paio di libri di design ".

This Diabola is based on a 1984 MotoGuzzi V65C, the chopper version of the V65. This series of motorcycles was so well designed than MotoGuzzi is still using a slightly updated version of the same frame, engine block and transmission on the modern V7 model. However, except for the tank and the headlight brackets, most of this bike’s components have been changed or modified by Venier. Transmission, engine, electrical and brake system are new. The headlight and the shocks were replaced with original parts. The rear sets were custom made modifying the originals. In this respect, Stefano says: “I couldn’t find anything would fit the design, everything didn’t look right, too modern, even Tarozzi”. The tail and turn lights are new, custom made, and give the bike the typical Diabola’s look . The original Veglia Borletti speedo was kept and installed on a custom minimal dashboard. The bike is gloss black finished and the chrome parts were redone. Tires are Firestone deluxe champion. Mufflers are Club silencers. The clubman handlebar is a Tommaselli Condor. Stefano highlights that this bike is not a high performance motorcycle but everything was designed to enjoy the sight of the rider. ... And I would say that it works.

Questa Diabola è basata su una V65C del 1984, la versione Chopper della V65. Questa serie di moto fu così ben progettata che MotoGuzzi utilizza ancora oggi sulla moderna V7 versioni leggermente aggiornate dello stesso telaio, blocco motore e trasmissione. Tuttavia, fatta eccezione per il serbatoio e le staffe del faro, la maggior parte delle componenti di questa moto sono stati sostituiti o modificati da Venier. Trasmissione, motore, impianto elettrico e frenante sono nuovi. Il faro e gli ammortizzatori sono state sostituiti con ricambi originali. Le pedane sono state realizzate artigianalmente modificando quelle originali. Stefano, al riguardo, afferma: “Non ho trovato nulla si adattasse al look, tutto non sembrava giusto, troppo moderno, anche le Tarozzi”. Le luci di coda e le frecce sono nuove, realizzate appositamente, e conferiscono alla moto il tipico look della Diabola. Il tachimetro originale Veglia Borletti è stato mantenuto e installato su un cruscotto custom minimale. La moto è finita in nero lucido e le cromature sono state rinnovate. Gli pneumatici sono Firestone Champion Deluxe. I silenziatori Club. Il manubrio clubman è un Tommaselli Condor. Stefano sottolinea che questa moto non è una moto ad alte prestazioni, ma tutto è stato progettato per appagare la vista del pilota... E direi che funziona.
