Just like five years ago, the great Salvatore D'Emilio (Sasà), historical friend of Inazuma Cafe, genuine biker and tireless traveler, leaves today for a ride of about 6,000 kilometers in South America,
somehow evoking the glorious adventures of Ché Guevara narrated in his Motorcycle Diaries. To tell the truth, his initial intention was to follow the Paris-Dakar race... Except that between the date of his decision and that of the trip, the event moved bag and baggage to Saudi Arabia. Over the years, Salvatore has already traveled the roads of Europe, from Italy to the Isle of Man, the deserts of southern Tunisia, the Andean passes and the Carretera Austral from Santiago de Chile to Ushuaia (we reported his journey here *)

The motorcycle is still the same: "The Silver Bullet", the faithful, and now legendary, 2007 Triumph Bonneville 865cc EFI with about 60,000 kilometers in its wheels (40,000 ridden abroad). Few changes. Just enough to strengthen the reliability of the machine. Sasà tells: "The bike was tuned with the help of 'Peppetto', my mechanic (Pianeta Moto in Ceccano), and in particular the fork was provided with Bitubo cartridges and the rear end with Bitubo shock absorbers. The tires were supplied directly by Heidenau, K90 in original size. The transmission is also new: new chain, sprocket and pinion supplied by Regina Chain. When it comes to the exhausts, once realized that the modified original pipes (left in in the garage for about 10 years) make the burning rate too fat, I kept the Hot rods with the Dynojet control unit and mapping bench tested years ago. I chose this waysince I have to travel for several days over 3000 meters a.s.l. New clutch, despite the one I had wasn’t really worn out, since Newfren was si kind to provide me a new one together with a kit of new floating brake discs (too bed that we made a mistake in measuring the front one). For the rest, I’ll have no luggage rack, only side frames, a large enduro handlebar and jut one rear mirror, as usual ”.

Most important! Sasà thought that his project could be a good idea to bring aboard his bike all goodwill people who are sensitive to the plague of the childhood cancer: "The journey is not only an opportunity to test yourself but it is also an excellent way to try to help those who really need it, having the fun of reading a cafe racer adventure. For the entire duration of the ride, a fundraising project will be active on Go-funding, and the amount collected will be entirely given to the Research department on the Ewing Cancer of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna ". Once again, Sasà decided to share his latest adventure with us. A few days ago, he sent his bike to Peru and today he is reaching it there, from where he will start his journey across Latin America from Lima to Montevideo. We will ride with him. Stay tuned!

Rimanete sintonizzati!
