Rusty Nail

1953 ACMA-Vespa 244cc

The Rusty Nail was originally developed in 2005 by Scooters & Services in collaboration with custom builder Martien Delfgaauw of Berham Customs. The scooter quickly achieved legendary status among enthusiasts. More recently, after years out of the spotlight, the Rusty Nail has returned to the same workshop for a complete mechanical overhaul. At the heart of this revival is a 244cc Quattrini cylinder, machined and recoated to accommodate a 60mm reed valve crankshaft. Paired with a modern Scooter & Service M244 right-hand exhaust and a 28mm PWK carburetor, the engine is now capable—according to the builder—of delivering a peak output of around 40 horsepower at the rear wheel. 

La Rusty Nail fu originariamente sviluppata nel 2005 da Scooters & Services in collaborazione con il custom builder Martien Delfgaauw di Berham Customs. Lo scooter acquisì presto uno status leggendario tra gli appassionati. Più di recente, dopo anni lontana dai riflettori, la Rusty Nail è tornata nella stessa officina per un completo aggiornamento meccanico. Al centro di questa rinascita si trova un cilindro Quattrini da 244 cc, lavorato al tornio e rivestito per poter installare un albero motore a valvola lamellare da 60 mm. Abbinato a un moderno scarico Scooter & Service M244 destro e a un carburatore PWK da 28 mm, secondo il costruttore, il motore è ora in grado di erogare la potenza massima di circa 40 cavalli alla ruota.
