Originally built for the 2016 Yard Built project, Dominik Klein’s creation blends 1970s Superbike DNA with high-end engineering, despite its controversial withdrawal from the official competition. The "Ronin" is more than just a custom Yamaha XJR 1300; it is a statement of principle. Crafted by the German specialists at Motorrad Klein for the 2016 Yard Built contest, the bike became a talking point when builder Dominik Klein withdrew his entry. His reason? A firm belief that other contestants had bypassed the competition’s strict technical constraints. Controversy aside, the "Ronin" stands as a masterclass in hybrid styling, bridging the gap between the raw power of 1970s American Superbikes and the lean elegance of the café racer scene. The striking white and blue "Speed Block" livery, featuring the iconic number 41, serves as a direct homage to racing legend "Nitro" Nori Haga. Technically, the bike is a powerhouse of premium components. It features a bespoke SC-Project titanium exhaust system, 48mm Ohlins FGRT forks, and a full Brembo braking suite. Every detail has been scrutinized, from the blue-anodized Kineo spoked wheels and CNC-machined triple clamps to the curved oil cooler with braided lines. In a bold aesthetic move, the bike sits on Bridgestone W01 racing wets, chosen specifically for their aggressive and unique tread pattern. While it may have walked away from the official spotlight, the Motorrad Klein Ronin remains one of the most sophisticated tributes to Yamaha’s legendary air-cooled inline-four.

C'è un'anima ribelle dietro la "Ronin", la special su base Yamaha XJR 1300 realizzata dai tedeschi di Motorrad Klein. Presentata originariamente per il contest Yard Built del 2016, la moto è diventata celebre non solo per le sue linee, ma anche per il clamoroso "gran rifiuto" del preparatore Dominik Klein, che ritirò la candidatura denunciando il mancato rispetto delle regole da parte degli altri concorrenti. Polemos a parte, il risultato tecnico è un capolavoro di equilibrio tra nostalgia e performance. La Ronin mescola il fascino delle Superbike americane degli anni Settanta con il minimalismo delle café racer moderne. La livrea bianco-blu con grafica speed block e il leggendario numero 41 sono un tributo esplicito a "Nitro" Nori Haga, icona del motociclismo mondiale. Sotto l’estetica curatissima batte un cuore rivisto profondamente: spiccano lo scarico artigianale in titanio firmato SC-Project e una ciclistica di altissimo livello, che vede protagonista una forcella Ohlins FGRT da 48 mm e un impianto frenante completo Brembo. I dettagli fanno la differenza: ruote a raggi Kineo anodizzate in blu, piastre di sterzo lavorate dal pieno e un set di pneumatici Bridgestone W01 (da bagnato) scelti appositamente per il loro peculiare disegno del battistrada. Una moto nata per correre (o almeno per farlo credere con stile) che, nonostante l'esclusione volontaria dai riflettori del concorso ufficiale, resta uno dei tributi più riusciti al leggendario quattro cilindri raffreddato ad aria di Iwata.
